After the rain: a simple umbrella care routine

The useful routine starts when you get indoors. Before an umbrella goes back into a bag or sleeve, give it time to dry.

Let it dry fully

Open the umbrella in a ventilated place where it will not block a walkway. Wait until the fabric is dry before returning it to its sleeve. Follow any model-specific care instructions supplied with the product.

Close without forcing

If something catches, stop and check the fabric and strap. Use the opening and closing sequence described in the product instructions. Do not assume that every automatic umbrella resets in the same way.

Check before your next outing

Look for a trapped fabric panel, a loose attachment or a visibly bent part. Addressing a small issue before heading out is easier than noticing it in a downpour. Avoid continuing to use a visibly damaged mechanism.

Keep the sleeve useful

A sleeve helps keep a folded umbrella tidy. It is not a replacement for drying. If you must pack the umbrella while wet during a journey, take it out to dry when you arrive.

A routine, not a guarantee

Care cannot make any umbrella unbreakable, but it gives you a regular opportunity to notice changes in its condition. For a fault or a question about your HARDBRELLA order, use the contact form and include a clear description.
